The cherry trees in High Park (a gift to Toronto from Tokyo in the 1950s) have started blooming in force. It was supposed to rain this weekend, which can knock all the petals off, so I rode out there on Friday afternoon to have a look. A lot of other people seemed to have the same idea.
Also, here’s a free bonus goose. High Park geese are smaller and friendlier than the geese in my end of town.
Thursday was the Rockwood Farmers’ Parade, way out west in Rockwood, Ontario. It’s the best parade around – you park in a cornfield, there’s a tent selling hot chocolate, and you watch the tractors go by covered with lights.
It was even colder than it looks.

Lots of car miles lately (and all this pesky summer come to think of it). You might say car miles really are junk, but they weren’t entirely so.
Last weekend, the roads were emptier. the leaves were starting to change in the hills just north of Toronto (and I could see my breath at night), and Fall Fair season is about to start. Yay! It’s my favourite time of year. It doesn’t last long so get out there and enjoy it!
